JIWO has been created to empower the Jain Women. And provide a platform where all JAIN women regardless of their firkas and faith can converge to create a powerful movement for benefit of all. 

Imparting proper values and sanskars to our children not only helps the family but the community and society at large. That’s Jainism treats woman and man as equal and are two sides of the same coin.

Mission

JIWO is committed to develop a platform to implement various activities and programs to strengthen the socio- economic status of women. It aims to empower women worldwide to achieve transformation through Leadership, Technology and Economic Prosperity. 

Objectives

JIWO will provide opportunities to women of all ages for their personal growth, participation in economic activity, up gradation of personal and professional skills in order to help them professionally as well as  the noble task of caring for the family and good upbringing of their children. All this will help them contribute of family values as well as for spiritual enhancement of the society.

JIWO aims at Education ( Shiksha), Service ( Seva), Values (Sanskar), Security (Suraksha), and self Reliance ( Swalamban ). When these five “S” are taken care of , it will help women to grow and at the same time the community and the society will grow.  

As part of Seva, JIWO shall organize medical camps, health check up camps, Marriage Bureaus, Blood Banks , organize seminars on Jainism and promote Jain and Vegetarian food with a  view to impart proper sanskar. Jain girls would be given scholarships for higher education; they would be encouraged to take up journalism and would be trained in the field. JIWO would also be training Jain Women in good parenting. 

Keeping in mind the importance of economic empowerment of women, JIWO will run special courses for development of skills. Cottage / Home industries form an important part of women’s financial growth. Our Jain women will be given proper guidance and training. Women will be trained by JIWO for financial management.  

The aspect of women’s security (Financial and physical) would be taken care of by JIWO by giving them legal counseling, medical aid and psychological counseling. 

JIWO’s aim is to help women of all age groups by encouraging them to enhance their abilities and capabilities through networking, seminars and job opportunities. 

As a part of special skills development programs, JIWO will conduct career counseling, time and stress management programs, marriage bureau and education about Jainism for women in the age group of 20-40 year. 

JIWO will help JIWO towards implementing their various programs. 

Any Jain Women can associate with JIWO and its activities by giving time, skills, knowledge and finance. 

JIWO dares to dream big and has the potential and the zeal to fulfill that dream for the betterment of society. 

JIWO with it’s primary objectives of Seva(Service), Shiksha(Education),Suraksha

(Security),  Swawlamban(Self Reliance) and Sanskara(Values) has been catalyst in

organizing many programs and plans to take many more leads. 

SEVA    

To fulfill this objective, the first project under Seva JIWO-Mumbai had organized Health

Check up of Women at Saifee Hospital which will enable women to ward off diseases and prevent

any future Health problems. Future plans include:

Training courses in Alternative Medicines like Yoga, Pranayam,Naturopathy, Mudra

Vigyan, Water & Colour therapy etc. to save women from ill effects of Modern Medicines.

Blood banks and also Directory of Blood donors.

Eye Banks

Organizing more Medical check up Camps, lectures on various Health related topics etc.

SHIKSHA    

Starting Hostel for women.

Spreading awareness about Beauty without Cruelty by arranging film shows, talks etc.

Offer Scholarships to bright girl students.

Start Institutions offering Value based Education.

Popularize Jain food by arranging Jain Food Festivals.

To motivate Girls to join IAS / IPS and Judiciary.

To conduct courses on Personality Development, Public Speaking, Time Management,

Effective Decision Making, Negotiation skills etc.

SURAKSHA

Training sessions on Self    Defense for Women.

Talks by eminent lawyers on Rights of Women under different Laws

Seminar on Disaster Management.

Short courses on First Aid & Home Nursing.

Lectures by Police & Fire Dept. on precautionary measures for safety of Women &

children.

Free Legal Counseling Cell.

SWAWLAMBAN

To develop & encourage Entrepreneurship amongst Women, JIWO had given stalls at

very nominal rate at Multi Trade Fair organized by JITO in January, 2008. Future plans

include:

Conducting Training Sessions for developing Entrepreneurial skills in       women by inviting eminent speakers.

Conducting short Term skills and vocational courses on various subjects like Beauty,

Mehendi, fashion designs, interior design etc. to enable Women to work from Home

along with taking care of family.

Conducting Training sessions on Manufacturing and Marketing of   various Gruh Udyog

products.

Organize lectures by eminent speakers on topics like Banking, Finance, Insurance

etc. and guiding them to obtain Finance from Govt. & Banks    under different Schemes.

Organize Workshops on procedure and Formalities for setting up Small scale Industries.

Set up self help Groups.

Set up Micro Financing Schemes.

SANSKAR  

Conduct Training programs for children where they will be taught about Moral Values,

Discipline, Our rich Culture & Heritage, and Salient features of Jain Religion in interesting

ways.

Organize Competitions, contests etc. to promote and create awareness about Jain

principles.
